Clara M. Thompson Zgrodek - Class of 1943

Clara M. Zgrodek, 92 of New Windsor, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. Born in New Windsor on June 10, 1925, Clara was the daughter of the late Louis and Theresa (Kawalec) Thompson. She was married to the late Stanley Zgrodek. Clara attended Newburgh Free Academy and was a parishioner of St. Francis Church and a member of New Windsor Seniors. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Helen McMurtrie of Port Neches, TX; her brother, Michael Thompson of Walden, NY; grandchildren, Stanley Zgrodek III and Lauren Zgrodek; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Zgrodek; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Clara was predeceased by her son, Stanley Zgrodek and her granddaughter, Katelyn. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 5 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, with a Service at 5:30 p.m. Burial will be private in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550.
