Lila was a close friend of my sister, "Bunny" Wilson Flemming, during their time at NJHS and NFA. I remember as being a vibrant and adventurous girl who delighted at tooling around Newburgh driving a car well before she was 16. (My Mom never got over that!) Where she got that car, we never quite knew! Probably from her parents. And back then, she lived on Prospect Street at the corner of South. Along with Joan Reed Greene, who passed away just last week, those of us who knew many in the NFA Class of '44 regret that she has gone, but will not be forgotten.
