Robert K. Lewis, our beloved father, age 91 of Loudon, TN, formerly of Leawood, KS, passed away on June 29, 2017. Bob was raised a Baptist and later became Episcopalian. He was preceded in death by wife, Elodie Lewis; mother, Elsie Lewis; father, William Lewis; brother, William Lewis and many wonderful friends. Bob was born in Newark, NJ. He enlisted to become a pilot in the Army Air Corps during WWII. After the war, he graduated with the Class of 1949 from the Hotel School of Cornell University. While at Cornell he was also a member of the Sigma Phi Fraternity Alpha Phi Chapter. Bob's hobbies were car collecting and clay court tennis. His personality was as big as his Lincolns. He was somebody you never forgot. Tall, blonde, tan, handsome, funny, loyal, 100% trustworthy. Bob was an elegant gentleman. While working as an executive in the hotel and country club business he lived in: several US states, also in Canada, Belgium, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia. He had the honor of two private audiences with the Emperor of Ethiopia and enjoyed annual invitations to His Imperial Majesty's birthday celebrations. Bob was proud to have met and worked on a transaction with the Crown Prince of Bahrain, who has since become King. He successfully built a factory in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in record time under extraordinarily difficult conditions. His reputation for being a man of his word earned him the honorable title of "Sheikh Bob" in the Middle East and with it, great trust and respect throughout the nations of the Middle East. Besides "Bob" and "Sheikh Bob" his other nicknames were: "Buck" and "Hollywood." He will be missed everyday by his daughter, Pandora Vreeland, and her husband James of Loudon, TN as well as his daughter, Coe Lewis, of San Diego, CA. Bob's family is grateful and thankful for the amazing, caring, fun, loveable, ROCK STAR CNA's, RN's, social, dietary, activities, housekeeping and other critical staff members of Ben Atchley Veteran's Home who worked hard each day taking excellent care of our father, whom they nicknamed "Hollywood." God bless each of you very special angels. Private services with full military honors were held on Wednesday, July 5 at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery Chapel. Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street, Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements. www.clickfuneralhome.com
