Paula Favata Bresnan - Class of 1954

      Paula Favata Bresnan, of New Windsor, NY died peacefully at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC on September 4, 2017. She was born to the late Antoinette (Parisi) Favata and the late Salvatore Favata on July 11, 1936. Paula was predeceased by her grandson Ian Bennett. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James Bresnan, Jr., her daughter Lisa Zafar and son-in-law, Syed Zafar; her son James Bresnan, III and daughter-in-law Carmen Abarca; her son Mark Bresnan and daughter-in-law Debra Bresnan; her daughter Beth Abarca and son-in-law Luis Abarca; her granddaughter Emily Lulves and her husband James Lulves; her granddaughters Saira Zafar, Erika Bresnan and Aliya Zafar; and her grandsons Mark Bresnan and Brandon Abarca. She is also survived by her sister JoAnne Corwin and her husband Robert Corwin; her sister Linda Kovacs and her husband Fran Kovacs and her brother Sam Favata and his wife Patricia T. Favata as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Paula was a dedicated mother and friend who extended her compassion, selflessness and empathy to others throughout her life. She never wavered in offering her heart and understanding to those in need. Family and friends will remember Paula's passion for piano. She was a piano teacher for almost 50 years who maintained an active teaching schedule. Paula was a member of Matinee Musicale and the Hudson Catskill Music Teachers Association (HCMTA). Above all, Paula treasured her family and will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Visitation is from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, September 8, 2017 at James F. Lulves Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Avenue A, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HCMTA, 58 Pinehurst Circle, Monroe, NY 10950 or Independent Living, Inc. in Newburgh, NY at www.myindependentliving.org Paula supported these organizations
