Barbara H. Hartshorn Cole, of New Windsor, NY entered into eternal rest on September 12, 2017 at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill, NY. She was 82 years old. The daughter of the late Alton C. Hartshorn and Mary E. (Anderson) Hartshorn, Barbara was born on February 22, 1935 in Newburgh, NY. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Major James C. Cole in 2013. Barbara was a retired Teaching Assistant for the Cornwall Central School District in Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. She was an active member of the Cornwall United Methodist Church and a beloved member of the Quilters of the Hudson Highland. Barbara is survived by her son: James and his wife, Pamela of Bloomingburg, NY; her daughter: Christiane C. and her husband, Mark Pryne of Cornwall, NY; four grandchildren: James L. and Kyle A. Cole, Jessica L. and Jenna M. Pryne; and her sister: Linda Hamel and her husband Peter and their children Susan and Laura and their children. God will welcome her at the gates of heaven and she will be missed greatly by all. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, September 15th at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. A Funeral Service will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the Cornwall United Methodist Church, 198 Main Street, Cornwall, NY.
