Alan Willard Boles, Jr., 73 years of age, of Concord, NC and formerly of Newburgh, NY, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at home with his family by his side. Alan was born April 22, 1944 in Cornwall, NY to the late Alan Willard Boles Sr. and the late Marjorie Anne (Kennedy) Boles. Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Boles; daughter, Alana B. Melton and husband, Pat; grandson, David B. Parker and wife, Tonya; granddaughter, Jennifer Beam and husband, Matt; grandsons: Josh Melton and wife, Jennifer, Casey Melton and wife, Ashley, and Taylor Melton and wife, Kristin; great-grandchildren: Camden, Harleigh, Tristan and Bentley; sisters: Martha Hasbrouck, Carol McDonald and husband, Jim, Kathy Lennon and husband, Jack; and his faithful companion, Lucky. Alan proudly served in the United States Army as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division. He retired from IBM after 30 years. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m., Sunday, October 1st at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev.
