Salliann Carroll - Class of 1973

    Salliann Teresa Carroll passed away suddenly on October 1st, 2017 at her residence in Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania. She was born on October 5, 1955, to parents Frederick and Joan Carroll in Newburgh, New York where she was born and raised. She is an NFA graduate, class of 1973. Salliann completed CNA and medical assistant certifications and spent her career working in healthcare in many different settings, from nursing facilities, day programs, in home care and lastly, residential care as a Mental Health Tech in a therapeutic community. She deeply cared for those she served, her work was very meaningful to her. She warmed the hearts of all those around her and loved with her whole heart. She had a smile and laugh that lit up any room, like a ray of sunshine. She felt blessed being with family and friends. She spent a lot of time with her grandchildren that she loved so very much. Salliann saw the beauty in every moment in life and every moment was meaningful to her. Salliann enjoyed gardening, music, dancing and living life with a strong faith in God. Salliann is survived by her sister Bonnie Stoddard and husband Wayne of Florida, Brother Frederick Carroll Jr. and his wife Lisa of New York. Nephews Sean Crawford and fiance Katie, Timothy Crawford, Brian Carroll and wife Ashley. Grand Nephews Sean Elijah, Greyson and Samson. She was previously married to Kevin Perez and leaves two children, daughter Vanessa Perez and Fiance Jay Jay Audwin Davis and son Jonathan Perez and wife Marichu Perez. She leaves 5 grandchildren Genesis Perez, Roman Perez, Yahvonna Davis, Yahlyious Davis and Amayah Davis. Visitation will be Wednesday October 11, 11:00 am-1:00pm at Doulin Newburgh Funeral Home Inc. 318 N. Montgomery Street, Newburgh NY. Then 1:30pm Mass to follow at Saint Francis Church on Benkard Avenue, Newburgh NY and burial at Saint Francis Cemetary on Union Avenue, New Windsor, NY.
