Americk Freddy "Fuzzy" Plant Class of 1950

Almerick Fred “Fuzzy” Plant, Sr., of New Bern, N.C.age 85 years, was welcomed
into the Kingdom of Heaven on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017. He was born May 20, 1932,
in Newburgh, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Lee Plant. He is
survived by his wife of 66 years, Shirley May Utter Plant; a daughter, Kathleen
June and her husband, “Sonny” Babcock; two sons, Almerick Fred Plant, Jr.; and
Joseph Albert Plant, and his wife, Jane. In addition he is survived by 17
grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Fuzzy will be remembered for his love and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ; his
devotion to his family; and his exceptional talent as a singer and musician. He
is a legend and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at a
later date at Calvary Baptist Church in New Bern, N.C. In lieu of flowers, the
family requests any memorial donations be given to Calvary Baptist Church, 1821
