Carol
Mary Chesser Stevens 62, of Charlottesville, VA entered into rest surrounded by
family on November 21, 2017 after suffering a sudden stroke. The daughter of the
late Robert and Kathleen (Whalen) Chesser, she was born January 5, 1955 in
Newburgh, N.Y. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Gary; her
sons: Robert Stevens, Paul Stevens (Bettina); daughter: Cary Ellen Brown
(Joshua); and seven grandchildren. Brother Robert Chesser (Susan), sisters:
Sharon Monaco (Larry), Kathleen Sullivan (Patrick), Mary Ellen Holmes (Tim),
Nancy Wickham (Frank) and Margaret Chesser; brother-in-law J.C. Stevens
(Juliet), sister-in-law Charlene Pasquale (Chris), two aunts, and numerous
cousins, nephews, nieces and godchildren. She was very active in her community
through Marriage Encounter, Family Camp, Cursillo, Tired Mothers,? and a
supporter of right to life. Contributions may be made in Carol's memory to
Family Camp at Camp Koinonia, PO Box 58, Spencerport, NY 14559 or to Pregnancy
Centers of Central Virginia. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday,
November 27, 2017 at 12:15pm at Church of the Incarnation, Charlottesville, Va.
A memorial mass and celebration will be held at a later date in Newburgh, N.Y.
