Beverly “Buzzy” Weiner Neumetzger of Boca Raton FL, formerly of the Town of
Newburgh and the Town of New Windsor passed away on November 22, 2017. Born at
St. Luke’s hospital in 1934, Beverly was the daughter of Maurice and Sylvia
Weiner. She married Lothar “Lou” Neumetzger in 1958 (who predeceased
her in 2001) and together they raised a daughter, Cheryl of Boca Raton and a
son, Douglas of River Vale NJ. Beverly attended the State University of New York
at Albany and received a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Syracuse University.
She taught English at North Junior High School and at Newburgh Free Academy
until her retirement in 1991. Beverly was a lifetime member of the woman’s
organization Hadassah and served as Newburgh Chapter President in the 1970s. She
was also a congregant of Temple Beth Jacob. A memorial service was held in Boca
Raton which was attended by many family members and friends. Burial was at Big
Rock Cemetery in Newburgh.
