James Sheehan - Class of 1948

      James F. Sheehan, 88, formally of Newburgh, NY, entered into rest this December 2, 2017. He was born in Roseton, NY on April 30, 1929 to the late George and Katherine (Caul) Sheehan. Jim served in the US Army from 1950-1952 in Germany. He retired from Verizon in 1989 after 34 years. Jim was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, an avid NY Yankees fan, loved animals and wood working. He was predeceased by his brother Jack Sheehan and son Mark Makarewicz. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 18 years, Marie (Paonessa) Sheehan; 2 sons, Jeffrey Sheehan and his wife Suzy of Evergreen, CO, and Steven Mack and his wife Elizabeth of Willow Spring, NC; grandchildren, Jack Graziano III and his wife Christine, and Stephanie Mack; 3 great grandchildren, Max Graziano, Ethan Graziano and Coltin Nelson; brother Bill Sheehan and his wife Josephine of Newburgh, NY and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 8, 2017, at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Transitions Life Care, 250 Hospice Cir, Raleigh, NC 27607
