Barbara Wolven Taylor - Class of 1953

Barbara EmMerilla Wolven Taylor, a lifelong resident of the Town of Newburgh,
entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 1, 2018 at her residence. She was
82. The daughter of the late Austin C. and Lena B. (Neff) Wolven, Barbara was
born on December 13, 1935 in the Town of Newburgh, NY. Barbara was a retired
accounts payable clerk with the Newburgh Enlarged School District in Newburgh.
She was also an active longtime member of the Moulton Memorial Baptist Church
where she was the organist, choir director and Sunday school teacher along with
being a member of the Beta ETA Club. Barbara was known for her piano and
organist duets with her lifelong friend Jacky Hey and she was an avid Mets fan.
Barbara is survived by daughters: Helena C. Taylor and Janet M. Taylor of the
Town of Newburgh; her unofficial daughter Trish Manuele and her husband, Frank
of Walden; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Barbara
is predeceased by husband, John "Jack" E. Taylor, and one brother, Chester
Wolven. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and thank you
to Dr. DiLorenzo, (Cheryl, Denise, Diane and Nicole), Dr. Aziz, Dr. Mclaughlin,
(Ashley and Denise), Dr. M. Patel, Alice Looney, ANP-C, Hospice of Orange and
Sullivan Counties, Kat and Elizabeth of Rite Aid - Broadway, and caregivers,
Kim, Sharilee and Hannah. A private cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill
Cemetery. A Celebration of Barbara's Life will take place Saturday, January 6,
2018 at 11:00 am at the Moulton Memorial Baptist Church, 54 Old Little Britain
Rd., Town of Newburgh. The Reverend Dr. Fontella Irons will officiate. Interment
of cremains will take place in the family plot in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later
date. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Newburgh Veterinary
Hospital, "Jake Fund", 1716 Rt. 300, Newburgh NY 12550 or Beta ETA Club, c/o
Moulton Memorial Baptist Church, 54 Old Little Britain Rd, Newburgh, NY 12550.
