Shirley A. Policano, of Newburgh and a life-long area resident, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. The daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Calvetti) Mackey, Shirley was born in Newburgh on November 22, 1934. She was 83. Shirley married her life partner, Frank Policano on May 14, 1955. Together, they shared all of life's joys! Shirley, always a homemaker also served for over 20 years as secretary for Sacred Heart School in Newburgh and also many years making brides happy at Jo-Marie's Bridal Shop in Newburgh. Shirley enjoyed being a member of the Mid-Hudson Bowling Association, where she was enshrined in the Hall of Fame, the Town of Newburgh Little League Board of Directors, Sacred Heart League of Sacred Heart Church as well as the New Windsor Senior Club. The Policano Family would like to thank Mom for always being there for her family and friends. Shirley lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; watching classic Westerns, playing cards and donating her time at church activities. You will always be loved and Sadly Missed by all. In addition to her beloved husband, Frank, Shirley is survived by her loving sons, Mark Policano and his wife Toni of Melbourne Beach, FL and Michael Policano of New Windsor and his fiance', Keryl Morris; her loving granddaughter, Shayna Latino; her sister, Catherine DeMeo of Washingtonville, NY and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her brother Charles Mackey, Jr.
( NFA 1965 ) Visitation will be held from 4 to 8PM, Friday, January 12 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM in Sacred Heart Church, 25 S. Robinson Ave., Newburgh on Saturday, January 13. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 3281 Rt. 9W, New Windsor, NY.
