Catherine Lodato Scilla of Marlboro, NY passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie. She was 85 years old. Catherine was born in New York City on December 4, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Anthony Lodato, Sr. and Anna Vavruski. Catherine married Salvatore J. "Sam" Scilla on September 11, 1955 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Newburgh. They were married for 63 years. Catherine was the Head Cook for the Marlboro Central School District before retiring. Survivors include her husband Salvatore J. "Sam" Scilla at home, her son Salvatore "Sam" Scilla, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Marlboro, her daughters; Christine Wolff and her husband John of Marlboro, Kathy Mackey and her husband Mark of Milton, her 4 grandchildren; Shane, Deanna, Kaitlyn and Sara, special friend Daniel and several nieces and nephews. Catherine was predeceased by her sister Marie and brothers; Anthony, Jr. and John. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro. A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Saturday morning at 10:30am at St. Mary's Church, 1209 Route 9W, Marlboro. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Marlboro. Memorial donations in Catherine's memory can be made to the charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Carl J. DiDonato, Jr. of the DiDonato Funeral Service, Inc.
