Lawrence Youlio age 67, born on 03/18/1950. Larry passed away on 2/21/2018. There will be 2 Masses for him, one in Florida and one in Kingston to be announced at a future date.

Lawrence “Larry” Joseph Youlio, 67, passed on February 21, 2018. Larry was born on March 18, 1950 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Newburgh, NY where he and wife Joanne DeMarco Youlio resided for 26 years. The couple then moved to Kingston, NY, where they raised their daughter, Victoria “Vicki” Youlio. Larry and Joanne happily retired to North Port, FL in September 2017. Larry attended St. Patrick’s Catholic High School and graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in 1968 before studying at Orange County Community College. During the Vietnam era, Larry voluntarily enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve. Three and a half years after their initial “blind date”, Larry and Joanne married in 1971 in St. Mary’s Church, Newburgh, NY. Larry began his career in retail sales as a teenager working at his Uncle Bud’s shoe store in Spring Valley, NY. At this young age, Larry found his passion in sales and went on to manage a Thom McAn's shoe store in the Orange Plaza, Middletown, NY. He was subsequently assigned to open a new location at the Mid-Valley Mall, Newburgh, NY. He served on the Board of Directors at both malls. Larry moved on in his sales career to sell mailing machines for Pitney Bowes Corporation. In 1979 Larry and Joanne opened a candy store in the Newburgh Mall called Jo-Ann’s Nut House, a store which ranked in the top 3 of the northeast franchise. Two years later, Larry opened the Sandwich Plus Deli in the Newburgh Mall. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Mall in the 1980s. After selling his businesses Larry worked for IBM, Kingston, NY for a brief period of time. Larry was the optimal salesperson and won many awards. Upon returning to Pitney Bowes in 1997, he achieved Senior Sales Representative and ultimately retired from Pitney Bowes Corporation in 2009. In addition to his successful career, Larry was also the optimal husband and father. Supportive of his wife and her endeavors, he was the family chef as Joanne commuted each day to IBM, Poughkeepsie, NY. He was an incredibly loving, gentle, personable, and happy man that Joanne was very grateful to have as her partner, soulmate, and husband. In 1986 the “light of his life” was born and the following thirty years in Kingston, NY were blissful in the triangular-shaped house on the cliff of Forest Hill Drive. Larry was a volunteer and “super-Dad,” starting as a co-operating parent in Vicki’s nursery school all the way through supporting the Kingston High School “Tiger” Band in its booster club. He enjoyed visiting Penn State University to watch his daughter perform at football games in the Penn State Blue Band. He was most proud of the music teacher she has become in their hometown, the Kingston City School District. Larry is survived by his wife, Joanne of North Port, FL; daughter, Vicki of Highland, NY; sister, Carol Anne Youlio Peterson, brother-in-law, Gene Peterson, nephew & Godson, Erik Quinn Peterson of Merritt Island, FL; along with several loving brothers- and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews throughout the country. A Mass celebrating Larry’s life will be said at San Pedro’s Catholic Church, North Port, FL on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM. A Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Kingston, NY will be held in remembrance of Larry at a date to follow. Please check the family members’ Facebook for an announcement regarding the Kingston service. Larry suffered from Pulmonary Hypertension, a rare, chronic, and deadly disease that causes high blood pressure in the lungs and affects the heart. Little is known about the cause of this condition, and more research is needed to discover ways of treating this disease, which affects people of all ages. Our family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association in Larry’s name. He was all about helping other people. https://phassociation.org/donate/
