Edythe Hogan Gray. Class of 1945

    Edythe D. Hogan Gray was born March 31, 1927 in Newburgh to Robert and Jennie Hogan, and entered into rest on April 8, 2018 at St. Luke's in Newburgh at the age of 91. Edie was a predeceased by her loving husband Milton D. Gray as well as her sisters and brother Katherine Kuhn, Robert A. Hogan Jr, Mary Donohue, and Barbara Collette. Her loving family includes her daughter Linda G. Flannery and the two "apples of her eye", her granddaughters, Chelsey Flannery and Bridget Flannery, as well as nieces, nephews, grand nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews; and not to be forgotten her beloved little dog Dublin. Before retirement Edie was employed by the Town of New Windsor Recreation Department, Newburgh City School District and O/U BOCES. She was also an Activity Coordinator for Retired Dominican Sister's at Mount St. Mary's for many years. A long time member of St. David's Parish at Stewart AFB where she was a member of the choir and organist, as well as at other area churches. Her family would like Edie to be remembered as the kind and gentle Mom, Nanie, Aunt and friend they all loved so much. Pride is concerned with Who is Right, and Humility is concerned with What is Right. ~ Live Justly ~ Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Friday, April 13 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. http://www.brooksfh.com/ A service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 14 at the funeral home, Reverend William Scafidi officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.
