Dolores Chesser, a lifelong resident of the Newburgh area passed away peacefully
on Thursday, April 19,2018 at the age of 86. Rita was born in Beacon, NY on
August 22,1931 to the late James F. and Mary Doulin Callahan. Rita was a retired
Bookkeeper for Doulin Newburgh Funeral Home Inc., former member of St. Charles
Borremo Church in Gardiner, honorary life member of Newburgh Yacht Club, former
30 year member of Plattekill Grange, former Wallkill School Board member, Alpha
Zeta Beta Sorority, member of Cronomer Valley Ladies Auxiliary and the Newburgh
Garden Club. Survivors include 2 sons, Charles William Chesser Jr. and wife
Cindy of Wallkill, Timothy James Chesser and wife Diane of Plattekill, Daughter,
Deborah Piperato and husband Nick of Town of Newburgh, Sister, Patricia D.
Garrison of Wallkill, 10 Grandchildren, Charles William III, Barry, Theodore,
Bridget Leah, Sabrina Justine, Peter James (Chesser), Meaghan Patricia Beck,
Nicholas Anthony III, Caitlin (Piperato), Rachael, T.J. (Chesser) and 6
Great-Grandchildren. Pre-Deceased by her husband Charles William Chesser,
Daughter, Constance Chesser, Brother, James Callahan, 2 Sisters, Mary Callahan,
Nancy Quick. Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 22,2018 from 4:00
pm to 7:00 pm at Doulin Newburgh Funeral Home Inc. 318 N. Montgomery St.
Newburgh, NY 12550 A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, April 23,2018 at
11:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1250 NY-32 Plattekill, NY 12568.
