John Joseph Abbruscato - Class of 1963

    John Joseph Abbruscato, 73, of New Windsor, a retired butcher for SRS Supermarkets (ShopRite) entered into rest on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Wingate at Ulster, Highland. Son of the late John and Marie Blondi Abbruscato, he was born in Newburgh, NY on May 31, 1944. John married his beloved wife, Anne (Grimando) Abbruscato on June 14, 1997 at the Falkirk County Club in Central Valley, NY. Anne survives at home. John was a sweet loving Husband & Father-loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He enjoyed traveling, taking cruises and his love for Music! John's nieces and nephews brought him great joy-especially Jonathan, Leo & Divine. He will sadly be missed by all including his Dog, BUTTONS! In addition to his loving wife, Anne, John leaves to cherish his memory: Daughters, Virginia Cambalik (Mark), Suzanne Kingsley (Patrick), Jennifer Campanella (Jeff) and Marie Abbruscato; his son, Jonathan Abbruscato (Kiera); grandchildren, Matthew, Danielle, Sarah, Katie, Olivia, Lauren, Chase, Christopher and Cailin; brothers, Thomas Abbruscato (Desiree) and Joseph Abbruscato; special cousins, Elizabeth Donato (Steve) and Frank Ceriello (Kitty) and many nieces and nephews. Loving sister-in-law, Franca Grimando. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his former wife, Linda D'Argenio and his very special Aunt, Beatrice Weitzer. Visitation will be held from 12 to 4pm on Sunday, April 29 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave. Newburgh, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Monday, April 30, at Sacred Heart Church, 301 Ann St, Newburgh. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor, NY. Donations in John's memory may be made to Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600 - Doylestown, PA 18901.
