John J. Ciarlante - Class of 1945

      John J, Ciarlante 90, of Newburgh, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 11, 2018. Born in Newburgh, on December 2, 1927 he was the son of the late John A. and Catherine Ciarlante. John attended Newburgh schools and was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, Class of 1945. He proudly served his country, joining the US Army after graduation from 1945 to 1947. He worked for IBM, as a personnel manager for 35 years, retiring in 1987. He was a devoted family man, who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. John enjoyed cooking for his family and entertaining for the holidays. He was a great fan of the NY Yankees. He will be missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Nancy, Judy, Jo-Ann, Mary Ellen, John, Paul and Sophia; his grandchildren Jillian, Georgia, Michael, Jake, Collette, Steven, Thomas, Chadwick, Lydia, Irena, and Daniela; 2 great-grandchildren John Francis and Daniel; his sister Anna Sylvester; and dear friends Claudio Scuadroni and Herbert D. Moshier. In addition to his parents John was predeceased by his wife Georgia Ciarlante. Visitation will be from 4-7pm on Wednesday, May 16 at Brooks Funeral Home 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Graveside Service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, May 17 at Calvary Cemetery in New Windsor. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations in John's  memory can be made to the SPCA, 940 Little Britain Rd. New Windsor, NY 12553 - Born: December 2, 1927 - Death: May 11, 2018
