Julius "Jules" S. Barki of New Windsor, NY, a lifelong area resident, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. He was 87 years old. Jules was born in Roseton, NY on December 24, 1930. He was the son of the late John Barki, Sr. and Margaret Takacs. He married Marcia Steadman who predeceased him on August 19, 2008. Jules was a United States Marine. He was a Customer Service Representative for Central Hudson before retiring. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Cornwall & Newburgh, a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh where he played the organ and directed the choir for years. He was a member of the New Windsor and Cornwall Senior Citizens. He served the seniors lunch at Munger Cottage in Cornwall. He and his wife Marcia delivered Meals on Wheels for years. Survivors include his son Michael & Carolyn Barki of CT, his daughters; Diane & Harvey Humphrey of South Carolina and Jeanne Bozich of Salisbury Mills, 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Susan Schauweker and his grandson Kenneth Barki. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening from5pm-8pm at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro. A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Wednesday morning at 10am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Carl J. DiDonato, Jr. of the DiDonato Funeral Service, Inc., (845) 236-4300, www.didonatofuneralservice.com
