Peter "Pete" Williard Wright, 77, of Milton, a retired Lt. Colonel in the USAF as well as a teacher at Newburgh Free Academy, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 3, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh. He was 77. The son of the late Williard Moore and Alla (Tomashevsky) Wright, Pete was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 10, 1940. Pete graduated from Gettysburg College in 1963 and SUNY Plattsburgh in 1975. He was a member of Cornwall United Methodist Church. Peter was proud to serve our nation as a member of the USAF, having earned the rank of Lt. Colonel. Pete is survived by his loving wife and family, Ann (Barry) Wright, at home; a son, James B. Wright and his wife, Chris Ann of Scotch Plains, NJ; daughter-in-law, Denise Maritza Wright of Wallkill; grandchildren, Peter C., Michael J. Daniel C. Nicole A. Jacob T. and Thomas A. Wright; a sister, Steffie Crowther and her husband John of Philadelphia; nieces and nephews, Ludmila & Julian Crowther, Holton Sigglino, Helen Ann Thrower and Christy Gilbert. Peter was predeceased by his son, John W. Wright in addition to his parents. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 pm on Thursday, June 7 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave. Newburgh, NY. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 6:00 pm with Dr. Rev. Holton Siegling of Charleston, SC officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in the name of Lt. Col. Wright may be sent to the "NFA AFJROTC Graduates Association, Inc.", 231 MacArthur Ave., New Windsor, NY 12553.
