Blanche T. Smurra Hearns, 97, died May 26, 2018 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice,
Wilmington, NC. Born on September 22, 1920 in Newburgh, NY, she was the youngest
child of the late Guiseppe and Sofia Cardamone Smurra. Mrs. Hearns is survived
by her daughter, Kathy Collins; five grandchildren, Lisa Bologna (Ron), Carl
Collins (Colby), Holly Hearns, Paul M. Hearns, (Mary), Jessica Hearns; six great
grandchildren, Arianna, Alessandra and Isabella Bologna, Jordan and Talon
Collins and Jorryn Hearns. She is predeceased by her husband, Paul A. Hearns,
Sr.; two sons, Paul A. Hearns, Jr., Patrick J. Hearns, and seven siblings. A
memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 14 at King of Glory
Lutheran Church to celebrate the life of Mrs. Hearns, as well as her son,
Patrick, who died on October 31, 2016. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made
to Lower Cape Fear Hospice/Mercy Care, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC
28401 or King of Glory Lutheran Church, 805 11th Avenue North, North Myrtle
Beach, SC 29582. A guestbook is available at
