Frank Amato entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital, with his family and friends by his side. Frank was 88 years old. Frank is the son of the late Ralph and Anna (Rucci) Amato. He was born in Newburgh, NY on September 6, 1929 and has been a lifelong resident. Frank worked as a printer at the Evening News and as a technician at IBM. Frank was a devoted husband for 58 years. Frank was a loving and caring father to his children Susan and Mark. Everyone who knew Frank loved him. He loved to take walks, go to the gym and travel. He loved all of his dogs. We want to thank Jon, who has taken care of our father for the past year and a half. Frank is survived by his beloved children Mark Amato of Fishkill, Susan Amato of Newburgh, and her life partner Tim Brown of Wappinger Falls; siblings Jane Rhodes and her husband Al, Rose Giammattei and her husband Al and Marion Cummings and her husband Bob; and several nieces and nephews. Frank is predeceased by his beloved wife Nancy E. Amato and his brother Charles Amato. Frank's remains will be placed alongside his beloved Nancy in a niche at Cedar Hill Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers/memorial donations can be made in Frank's memory to the Alzheimer's association, P.O.
