James Thomas Birkenstock "Jamie" of Newburgh, NY passed away at home on
Thursday, July 5, 2018. He was 43. Beloved son of John F. Birkenstock and Dedra
Viebrock Birkenstock, he was born in Newburgh, NY on December 10, 1974. Gifted
with a larger than life personality, his enthusiasm filled every room as his
love and laughter touched every heart. An adventure seeker, Jamie enjoyed the
lake life, skiing, and rock climbing. A devoted father, loving son, loyal
brother, and fun loving uncle, Jamie's love for his children, family and friends
is his greatest legacy. Jamie served as General Manager of Newburgh Park Motors
in Newburgh, NY. He is survived by his parents, John and Dee Birkenstock of
Newburgh, NY, his children, Jameson and Kalista Birkenstock and their mother,
Kristie Brand of Marlboro, NY, his brother, David Birkenstock and sister-in-law
Katherine of Lawrenceville, NJ, his nieces and nephew Sarah, Emily, and Drew
Birkenstock, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8
p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral
Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe, NY. A celebration of his life will be held at 10
a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 120 South
Street, Newburgh, NY. Rev. J. Edward Lewis and Rev. Glenn Hendricksen will
officiate. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh, NY. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research
Foundation, Hudson Valley Branch, 30 Glenn Street, Suite 409, White Plains, NY
