William F. Laddick, "Bill" of Newburgh, entered into rest unexpectedly at home,
on Wednesday July 11, 2018. Son of the late Frank and Mary (Albrecht) Ladick,
Bill was born in Newburgh, on September 25, 1937. He was 80. A lifetime resident
of Newburgh, Bill was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy. He married Barbara J.
Bramall and together they raised their children. They were married for 55 years.
Bill worked for New York Telephone Company, where he retired as a manager. He
was a faithful member of St. George's Episcopal Church, serving as a Sub-Deacon.
After an early retirement, Bill and Barbara loved to travel with adventures to
Alaska, Egypt, Hawaii, England, Europe and Jerusalem. A member of the Methol
Hunting Club, Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman who shared his love of the
outdoors with his daughters. He supported his girls in all their endeavors and
was proud of their achievements. His greatest joy was being called PAPA by his
grandsons. If Bill was not at home he could be found at the Newburgh Yacht Club
where he was a lifetime member, and formed lifelong friendships. He will be
missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife
Barbara, who survives at home; his daughters Heather Moore, and her husband Bill
of Milan, NY and Melanie Menzie and her husband Bob, of Newburgh; grandsons Ryan
and Kyle Menzie; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents
Bill was predeceased by his sisters, Kathryn Garvey and Barbara Lawrence.
Visitation will be held from 2-5 pm on Sunday, July 15 at Brooks Funeral Home,
481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Funeral Service will take place at 10 am on Monday
July 16 at St. George's Episcopal Church, Newburgh. Entombment will follow in
Cedar Hill Mausoleum. William Francis Laddick
