William B. "Beaker" Hasbrouck, Jr., 78, of New Windsor and Dunedin, FL, a retiree of Ford Motor Company and West Point Military Academy, entered into rest on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Glen Arden, Goshen. Son of the late William Benjamin Sr. and Ethel (DeGeorge) Hasbrouck, he was born January 30, 1940 in Newburgh, NY. William married his beloved wife, Florence on February 24, 1968 in Newburgh. Florence predeceased William on ? . A proud veteran of the US Army, William continued his military career having retired from the US Army Reserve. Beaker was a member of the Masons, Elks Lodge, American Legion Post 1796 and Post 275, Hudson River Lodge # 309 Masonic Lodge and Elks Lodge # 247. Bill was a 1959 graduate of Newburgh Free Academy where he was kindly known as "Beaker." He was a "happy go lucky type of guy. He always enjoyed engaging conversation and making new friends along the way with his infectious smile and bright blue eyes and kind compassionate spirit! Friends came easy. Bill took much pride in serving his country that after being discharge from the Army he enlisted in the Army Reserve and served another 20 years. Bill was a loving Father and Grandfather-he will truly be missed. The sounds of a Frank Sinatra tune or the sight of an old Chevy Bel-Air will make us smile in his memory. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Glen Arden of Goshen, NY for their excellent and compassionate care Bill received during his stat. It will be in their memory and hearts for a long time. Bill is survived by his son, David Hasbrouck and his wife, Ann of Marlboro; daughter, Deborah Webber and her husband, Greg of New Winsor; grandchildren, Amanda, Ariel, Kayla, Lauren, Deanna and Gina; sister, Barbara Vitek of Raleigh, NC and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
