Nicholas "Nick" Antonelli, a 6-year area resident, entered into rest on July 24, 2018. He was 79. The son of the late Nicholas Antonelli, he was born November 29, 1938 in Beacon, NY. He married his beloved wife, Elizabeth (LoBiondo) Antonelli on May 20, 1962 at St. Mary's Church in Newburgh. Elizabeth survives at home. Nick was a 1956 graduate of NFA and served in the Army National Guard as a Sergeant. He retired from IBM after 32 years, where he was an Instructor on some of the first computer-based educational courses that IBM Created, Design Engineer of large scale systems, Instructor in automated design software, and a Systems Test Engineer. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, President of Ceramic League, Volunteer at Cornwall/ St. Luke's Hospital, Knights of Columbus, and New Horizon Senior Citizen. He also was a New Windsor Little League Coach Nick was loved by many that extend out to more than just his family. He was always laughing, smiling, and talked to everyone he met. Nick was a presence and a joyful soul wherever he went; everyone loved him. Nick always went the extra mile for his family, friends, and grandchildren. His life was his grandchildren and his wife of 56 years. He loved life and enjoyed every day, and he will be dearly missed. Thank you to all his wonderful doctors at Crystal Run Healthcare and the Doctors/Nurses at ORMC. A special thank you to Dr Sandeep Singh for all of the care over the last 20 years. In addition to his wife Elizabeth he is survived by his children: Jim Antonelli of Middletown, Angela and Husband Gary Demaris of Montgomery, and Michele Antonelli of Wappingers Falls; his brother Sam Bryer (Best friend forever); brother and sister-in-law Ross and Jan LoBiondo; grandchildren: Olivia, Nicholas, and Sofia Demaris of Montgomery and James Antonelli of Wappingers Falls; and nieces and nephews Vincent & Alex LoBiondo and Anthony & Julie LoBiondo, all of Newburgh.
