Thomas Daniel Parrott,73, died in Plattekill after a long illness. He was born in White Plains, NY the son of Thomas and Jane (Mills) Parrott. COPD is a long term, degenerative disease. Eventually it keeps you from breathing without supplementary oxygen. Once Dan got to be dependant on oxygen, he had an idea when today would come. He wouldn't know exactly but as attacks got more serve he knew THE TIME WAS COMING. Between that and wanting to get some use out of his Journalism degree, Dan wrote some things down to use now. "I was raised in Newburgh, graduated from NFA, Class of 1962, graduated from SUNY New Paltz, Class of 2004. The same year I retired from the Post Office. Outside of four years when the Army and I survived each other, I have been in the Mid-Hudson Valley all my life. From Saugerties to Poughquag. From Pleasant Valley to Kerhonkson. From Tarrytown to Plattekill. There have been enthusiasms that I didn't follow through on for long - charter member of the Temple Hill Muzzleloaders;student Trustee at UCCC; Trustee in the Poughquag Methodist Church; stringer for the Times Herald-Record; member of a team in a bowling league that folded the year after I joined! Mostly I enjoyed the outdoors and the bars of the Hudson Valley. I am survived by Gail Nordmann. A daughter, Jane M. Parrott. A son, Matthew Thomas (Nancy) Parrott and his son, Zachary David Parrott. I am also survived by two sisters. Anne (Earl) Dressel and Cathie (Kenny) Little and their children and grandchidren. Visiting hours would be a group of my family from the Adirondacks and the West Coast staring across at strangers from around here. To avoid this mess, there will be no visiting hours or normal funeral. I will be cremated. In lieu of flowers or donations, take yourself out and have yourself a good time.

                  "ALOHA "
