Robert Osborn - Class of 1949

      Robert "Bob" Osborn, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018. He was 87 years old. He is the son of the late John and Catherine (Costello) Osborn. Robert was born July 27, 1931 in Middletown, NY but was raised in Newburgh by his uncle Joseph and aunt Lillian Esrich. He attended NFA, graduating with the class of 1949. After finishing High School Robert enlisted, serving his country as a United States Marine during the Korean War. He later married the love of his life Helen Guarino on October 21, 1956, they would have celebrated 62 years of marriage this year. After the war, Robert worked at Osborn and Associates where he retired. Dad was devoted to his family and worked tirelessly his whole life to care for them. In retirement he spent his time going to all of his grandchildren’s games and activities. He was also a devoted member of St. Francis Church where he served as an Usher. Robert is survived by his beloved wife Helen (Guarino) Osborn; children Cathy Maisonet and her husband Tim, Lori Shaffer and her husband Bob, Judy Osborn and Joe Reardon and Shari Osborn and Brian Wallace; grandchildren Amber Maisonet, Nicole Maisonet, Tim Maisonet, Ryan Shaffer, Steven Shaffer, Holli Rivera, Amanda Miranda, Brittany Barry, Holden, Whitman, Indigo, Dashiell, and Blayzen; greatgrandchildren Ava Schaffer, Olivia Miranda, Jack Miranda and Willow Miranda; and several nieces and nephews. Robert is predeceased by his parents John and Catherine Osborn, siblings Jack Osborn and Ann Carroll, and grandsons Robert Shaffer and Beckett. Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home Wednesday, August 15, from 4-7 PM. Mass will take place at St. Francis Church on Thursday, August 16 at 10 AM, burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made out to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties Inc. 800 Stony Brook Court Newburgh, NY 12550.
