Charles G. Hahn of Newburgh, NY entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August
22, 2018. He was 83 years old. Charles is the son of the late Charles A. and Mae
(Dietz) Hahn. He was born at Cornwall Hospital on June 27, 1935, and has been a
lifelong resident of Newburgh. Charles graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in
1952. Charles worked as a clerk at Smith Supply/Schmidt Supply until the day he
retired. He enjoyed reading about World War II aviation and possessed a vast
library of books on the subject which he considered his most prized possession.
The family would like to thank Dr. William Lee, Dr. Thomas Scileppi and all of
the staff at Wingate of Ulster for their dedication to his care. Charles is
survived by his niece, Linda Smith of New Windsor, NY. He was predeceased by his
parents Charles and Mae Hahn, sister Rhoda L. Smith and niece Donna L. Smith.
Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home Monday, August 27 from 4-7 pm. A
service will take place Tuesday, August 28 at Brooks Funeral Home at 11 am with
Reverend Jeffrey L. Hooker officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill
Cemetery. - June 27, 1935 - August 22, 2018
