Andrew Cheesman, age 93, of Ogdensburg and formerly of Newburgh, NY will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Lisbon Cemetery with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg. Mr. Cheesman passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Florence; a daughter, Carol Lama and her husband, Julian; a son-in-law, Nelson Christenson and a grandson, Andrew Bell. He is predeceased by his daughter, Linda Christenson and his parents. Andrew was born on August 30, 1925, in Newburgh, NY, the son of Dimitri and Pauline Lysko Cheesman. Upon graduating high school, he enlisted in the Navy and served aboard the USS Saratoga in the South Pacific during World War II. He was an avid model airplane builder from rubber band models to gasoline radio-control models and lately electric radio-control models. He was the Past President, Past Vice President, and Past Treasurer of the Sullivan, Orange, Ulster Radio Society in Southern New York. He was also affiliated with Grace United Methodist Church of Newburgh, NY and was active until his health gave out. August 30, 1925 - September 2, 2018
