Phillip R Leo, born on August 17, 1921 in Newburgh, New York, to the late Constance Leo and the late Dominic Leo, passed away at age 97 on August 25, 2018 in Manhattan, New York. His wife of 50 years was by his side. Phillip served in the Army in World War II. He began a life long career as a textile buyer at S Strouck and Co. He soon moved to Manhattan where he continued to work in textiles until his death. He loved living in Manhattan but often returned to Newburgh to spend time with his family. He was admired and respected in his field for his expertise and magnetic personality. He considered his customers and coworkers as extended family, and was a mentor to many. Among the firms he worked for were Collins and Aikman, National Spinning, and Glen Raven. He and his wife were seasoned world travelers, and he was never without a flashy convertible! He will be missed by many. Phillip was the beloved husband of Jeanne Leo. He is survived by his daughters, Carol Seneca and Marsha Leo; and baby brother (93!) Charles Leo, as well as his grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family invites donations in Phillip s name to ALS Association or Charity of choice. Friends and family members may attend the visitation on Friday, August 31 from 4-8 pm at John Krtil Funeral Home, 1297 1st Ave, New York, New York, 10021. There will be a memorial service in Newburgh at a later date and he will be interred in Cedar Hill Mausoleum in Newburgh NY - (Camera Shy) Replies to this post No replies yet |
