Dorothy "Dot" L. Revelle, 96, of Newburgh, a retired secretary for Royal Insurance and lifelong resident of Newburgh, entered into rest on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh. Daughter of the late Thomas Mitchell and Minnie Todd Douds Stringer, she was born on July 30, 1922 at 27 Maple Street, Newburgh, NY. Dot was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and she was married to the late Captain George Gerrow Revelle, Jr. Dorothy was called: Mom, Dot, Grandma Dotsie, Duke and great grandma by members of her loving family. Her love and generosity to her family members was without limit. She was a long time resident of the Orange Lake area and Colden Park. She enjoyed many years of Participating in Town of Newburgh Programs for seniors, a card club and a Renewal group. Her greatest treasure was her memories of her beloved husband, whom she met while in high school, parents, brother and sister and her love for her children, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, grandson-in-law, great grandchildren and her countless friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Our prayers are that her Christian walk has no found her reunited with all of her family members that went before her. Dot leaves to cherish her memory: Children, Susan D. Mahr of Austin, TX and Ronald G. Revelle and his wife, Toni of Newburgh; grandchildren, Kristine M. Revelle, Mary E. Wingerden and her husband Jeremiah and Joshua R. Revelle; great-grandchildren, Evangeline, Elijah and Emerson Wingerden; nieces and nephews, Peter Hanff, Ellen Cordobes, Paul Hanff and Karen McKnight; cousins, Joseph & Janice Ruggiero and Jeannine Rogers. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was predeceased by her two siblings, Mildred Hanff of Washington State and Thomas M. Stringer of Craigville. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7pm on Wednesday, October 10 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave. Newburgh, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, October 11, at Our Lady of the Lake Parish, 433 S Plank Rd, Newburgh. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor, NY.
