Irene Reeks TerBush, of the Town of Newburgh, entered into rest, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, October 11, 2018. She was 96. Daughter of the late Arthur and Myrtle (Abernathy) Reeks she was born on June 24, 1922 in the Newburgh Heights. Irene was a loving and faithful, wife and homemaker. In her later years she worked for the family business, Tele-Bros. in East Orange, NJ until its closing in 1984. She proudly served her country in the U.S. Marine Corps. during WWII attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant, and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Parish. Irene is survived by two sons, Dwight A. TerBush and his wife Maureen and Alan F. TerBush all of the Town of Newburgh; three grandchildren: Helena, Andrea and Marisa and five great-grandchildren, Vincent, Milana, Breanna, Nathan and Emilia; a sister, Dorothy Strong of Springfield, VA. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Irene was predeceased by the love of her life and husband of 72 years, Ralph I. TerBush in August, 2018. A private cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory. A private graveside service will take place at the Fostertown Cemetery in Newburgh at a future date with military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan County, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550, or the Trinity United Methodist Parish, 1 Owens Road, Newburgh, NY 12550.
