Dorothy "Dotty" (Riley) Olympia, age 79, of Newburgh, NY, peacefully passed away at her home on October 13, surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of the late Florence Morgan she was born on August 24,1939 in Newburgh. Dorothy lived her whole life in the Newburgh area. Dorothy lived a full and beautiful life. She married the love of her life, Joseph Olympia. Her family was her world, she was a devoted, amazing, loving mother of seven children. She was very proud of her family, and was proud to be called "Gram" by her seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.Dorothy was known for her feisty, yet good sense of humor. She loved attending bingo, and playing poker with her family. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Dorothy is survived by her her seven children Daniel Olympia of Newburgh, Dawn Olympia-Shader (Richard) of Rock Tavern, Joanne Olympia-McCleary (Chuck) of Newburgh, Joseph Olympia (Brenda) of Jacksonville Fl., Darren Olympia ( Lori ) of Walden, Jeffrey Olympia (Jackie) of Newburgh, and Jonathan Olympia (Jessica) of Newburgh; her grandchildren Melinda Olympia, Mathew McCleary, Richard Shader, Bronson Olympia, Samantha Olympia, Darren Olympia, and Madison Shader; her great grandson Carter VanOrden; her Sister-In-Law Betty Riley, nieces and nephews Timmy Riley, Tommy Riley, and Hope Riley-Corbett and their respective families. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Olympia Sr., brother Daniel Riley, and her great granddaughter Nicolina Conklin. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, October16 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial following in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh. Replies to this post No replies yet |
