James Frederick Dorsey - Class of 1959

      James Fredrick Dorsey entered into eternal rest on October 6, 2018 after a long battle of medical illnesses, he's finally at peace. James was born on May 24, 1941 in Newburgh, NY to Secilia Minard Dorsey and James Dorsey. He went to Newburgh Free Academy and soon after graduation decided to enter the United States Military as a Marine. He work with the newspaper, Times Herald Record for years before later retiring from Miron Lumber as a gatehouse keeper. James is survived by his second wife, Mary Dorsey and his children with Raymond Pullum, Denise Dorsey, June Ann Dorsey, Juliessa Dorsey-Brody and Elizabeth Ann Dorsey. James also leave to cherish and celebrate his memories; his grandchildren, Kamilah Rayford, Zakiyyah Rayford, Jasmine Melvin, Jeffrey Melvin Jr., Jade Melvin and Christopher Melvin, Raymond Pullum Jr, Rayshawn, Christina, and Addaya Pullum, Jessica and Jonathan Brody Jr.; three sisters, Kofi and Shirley Dorsey, Gloria Dillia, and; two brothers, Allen and Gary Dorsey; along with a host of nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Secilia Dorsey; his BFF, Aubrey Michell; uncles, William, Robert, Anthony, Charles, John and George Minard; aunts, Margaret Wilson, Antonette Minard and late wife, Henrietta Dorsey. He will be missed!!!
         Mr. Dorsey will repose 10-11:00 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2018 at Holy Trinity Church C.O.G.I.C, 44 Chambers Street, Newburgh, NY. Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Superintendent John Borden will officiate. Interment at Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery w/Full Military Honors.
