David M. Serviss, Sr., a lifelong Newburgh resident entered into rest on
Thursday, October 25, 2018. He was 63. Son of the late Harry and Virginia (Tulve)
Serviss he was born on April 12, 1955 in Newburgh, NY. Dave, as he was known to
friends and family, was a retired Teamster with Local #812 for the Coca Cola
Bottling Co., in New Windsor for 36 years. After his retirement, he became an
income tax preparer for H&R Block. He later went on to become an IRS Enrolled
Agent and started his own income tax preparation service. Survivors include
Dave's long time fiancee and best friend, Donna Grogan and her family; two sons,
David M. Serviss Jr., and Aaron N. (Monika) Serviss both of Pine Bush; a
daughter, Crystal Serviss of Newburgh and their mother, Vaughn Balbach of Pine
Bush; two brothers, Harry Serviss of Cape Coral FL, and Ronald Merry of Campbell
Hall; two sisters, Margaret Weber, and Virginia Serviss both of Newburgh, and
six grandchildren, Derek, Logan, Dylan, Alexandra, Lincoln and Nicholas. In
addition to his parents, Dave was predeceased by a brother Louis Serviss and a
sister Carmella Gemma. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 30, 2018
from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation
Service, 188 N. Plank Rd., Newburgh, NY. A Funeral Service will take place on
Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Fr. John
Vondras officiating. A burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, donations can be made in Dave's memory to the American Diabetes
Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Arlington, VA 22202.
