Pauline Rute
Hall, affectionately known as “Grammy”, 83, a proud lifetime resident of
Newburgh, entered into eternal peace, but not without a fight, on Saturday,
October 27, 2018 with her loving partner by her side, at the Kaplan Hospice
Residence.
Pauline was born May 12, 1935, a
daughter of the late Paul and Flossie Rute, She graduated from Newburgh Free
Academy in 1952 and spent over 20 years working as an office manager at
Construction Contractors Associated. Pauline enjoyed bowling with friends and
family at Tarsio Lanes, where her attention to detail led her to serve as the
league secretary for many years. She had a love for genealogy and was an avid
baseball fan, always routing for her Mets. Throughout her lifetime, Pauline made
many memories at the Great Sacandaga Lake, spending every weekend she could with
her family at their lakefront property.
As the matriarch of her family, Pauline
will be remembered as a strong woman, with thick skin, but a soft heart. She was
loyal and dedicated to her friends and family, making it her duty to always
protect and care for them. Her friends will miss her sharp memory for anything
and everything Newburgh. Her family will miss her roast beef dinner and her
thoughtful trinkets that always came with very specific directions. Everyone
would agree that she was special and she sure was “somethin’ else.”
Pauline was predeceased by her husband,
Thomas Robert Hall in 1979. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by
her; devoted partner of over 23 years, Al P. Crisci of Newburgh and their dog,
Mandy; her daughter Donna Conklin of Newburgh; her son Thomas “Mike” Hall and
his wife, Patricia of New Windsor; 6 adorning grandchildren, Michelle Pagano and
her husband Jeffrey, Lauren Terry and her husband Steven, Nicholas Calvino and
his fiance’ Victoria, Thomas Hall, Caitlin Hall, and Ira Conklin IV; 9
great-grandchildren, Peyton Tuttle, Ryder Tuttle, Luke Pagano, Lucia “Lucy”
Pagano, Jake Pagano, Jax Pagano, Jesse Pagano, Alec “Oliver” Calvino, and
Savannah Terry. Pauline will be greatly missed by her sisters, Charlotte Scott
of Hyde Park and Lorraine Cross of North Fort Myers, Florida.

Brooks Funeral Home on Monday, October 29 from 4-8 pm. A service will be held at
11 am on Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial following in Woodlawn
Cemetery, New Windsor.
