Antwaun Fontez Thomas - Class of 2008

    Antwaun Fontez Thomas entered into eternal rest on November 3, 2018. He was 28. Antwaun was born January 15, 1990, to Carl Thomas and Eugenia Dickerson-Adams. He was educated in the Newburgh School District. He played on the basketball and football team. Antwaun had so much ambition. He was an entrepreneur, promoter, construction worker, and he took a film production assistant workshop at Umbra Sound Stage. Antwaun had an ability to bring people together in a positive way. Antwaun was heavily involved in the local community, he organized a school supply drive for the youth in Newburgh and he also partnered with the Cathedral at the House of Refuge Church and had a clothing drive for those in need. Antwan was very family oriented, he loved his family. In his spare time, he would travel and visit family. Antwaun had a genuine smile that would light up a room. Left to cherish his memory are his loving devoted mother, Eugenia (Joe) Dickerson-Adams; devoted father, Carl (Opal) Thomas; two brothers, Raymond (Nessa) Sims and Carl Thomas Jr.; sisters, Tanaya Thomas and Nigeria Green; maternal grandmother, Margaret Ann Ware; paternal grandparents, Linvel and Barbara Thomas; maternal great-grandmother, Juanita Carroll; loving companion, Anaiya McCoy; one special nephew, who was the love of his life Omauri Sims; special Godmother, Delcina Fisher; special aunt, Audretta Blue; two Godsons, Ka'Sii Zachary and Halo Lopez; one Goddaughter, Milan Edwards; two uncles, Etom Thomas and Owen Thomas; two aunts, Lilly Morns and Malvette Joseph; two Godbrothers, Jamar DeGroat and Demari McKenzie; one Godsister, Deona Woody; three special cousins, Owen Fraser, O'Niesha (Jerome) McNeill, and Octavius Fraser; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Eugene Dickerson and maternal great-grandfather, William Carroll. Mr. Thomas will repose 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Baptist Temple Church, 7-11 William Street, Newburgh, NY. Funeral service 11 a.m. at the church. Rev. Byron Williams, Eulogist. Interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Middlehope, NY. Professional services entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Homes, 259 Walsh Ave., New Windsor, NY. "Committed To Being The Very Best".
