Amy L. Houston Finnegan - Class of 1967

Houston Finnegan enter into eternal rest on November 13, 2018 at New York
Presbyterian, she was born on June 7, 1949 in Cold Spring New York. She was the
daughter of the late William H. Houston and Helen E. (Cagney). She is survived
by her husband of 49 years John T. Finnegan. Her daughter Susan L. Finnegan and
her partner John G. Engright, her son John W. Finnegan and his wife Julianna E.
and son in law Kevin J. Jones. Her grandchildren Katherine E. Jones, Emily R.
Jones, Aiden A. Kidd, John L. Finnegan, Keira H. Finnegan, many nieces and
nephews and several dear friends. She was predeceased by her brother William
Houston, her sisters Suzanne Guadagno, Barbara Pointer and daughter Jennifer F.
Jones. Amy was a 1967 N.F.A. grad. She Graduated from SUNY Orange with a degree
in nursing. Then went on to have a successful career at St Luke’s Cornwall
Hospital before becoming the Director of the Unity Center; where she pursued her
passion that was near and dear to her heart of helping people in their recovery.
She later returned to her roots at St Luke’s Cornwall hospital before retiring
after 27+ years of service. Amy was involved in many community organizations
including the New Windsor Republican Committee and past president of New Windsor
Girls Softball, as well as an avid speed skater in her youth. Visitation will be
held from 4-8pm on Friday, November 16 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney
Avenue, Newburgh. www.BrooksFH.com
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9am, on Saturday, November 17,
at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 145 Benkard Avenue, Newburgh. Burial will
follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
