Norwood Spearman - Class of 1958

  Norwood Spearman, 79 of New Windsor, NY, entered into eternal rest early Saturday morning on November 17, 2018 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Norwood Spearman was a longtime resident of Newburgh and New Windsor, NY. He was born in North Carolina to the late Carrie and Henry Spearman. He was a dedicated and warm-hearted family man who was known for his charismatic and beaming smile. He enjoyed spending precious time with his family and loved ones, creating memorable moments with his grand and great-grandchildren. The say "Teach a man how to fish and he will eat for a life time" as Norwood would take pleasure in fishing with his buddies in his spare time studying how to master the fishing pole. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Newburgh where he served as an usher. Norwood leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Rebia Frances Spearman of New Windsor, NY; son, Norwood Spearman Jr. of Florida; seven grandchildren: Jarron and Candyce Spearman of Wilmington, NC, Keisha Spearman, Kareem and Jillian Spearman, all of East Meadow, NY, Nora Spearman and David Spearman, both of Newburgh, NY; five great-grandchildren: Nivieria Spearman of New Windsor, Shayla Spearman of Plattekill, NY, Onyx Spearman of Wilmington, NC and Mia and Riley Spearman of East Meadow, NY and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Carrie Spearman. Mr. Spearman will lay in repose from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, November 24 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 20 Rev. Coleman Briggs Way, Newburgh, NY. Funeral service is at 11 a.m. at the church. Interment takes place at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 26 with full military honors at Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
