Theresa Macri Gibbs, a lifelong Newburgh resident and beloved Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandma and Friend, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, January 7, 2019 surrounded by loved ones at home. She was 86. Theresa was born on Saturday, November 5, 1932 in Newburgh, NY to the late Vito and Caterina (Barone) Macri. Theresa was the widow of James F. Gibbs. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh. Survivors include her daughters, Sharon and her husband Salvatore Minuta of Newburgh and Michele and her husband Wil Rivera of Long Island; granddaughters, Theresa and her husband Wayne Cross and Rosalie and her husband Daniel Greak; great-grandchildren, Talia, Luciana, Daniel, Antonio, Taormina & Salvatore and many, many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Vito and Caterina and her husband, James, Theresa was predeceased by her sister, Rose Parant and her husband, Robert, her sister Sylvia Silvagni and her husband, John as well as Theresa's brother, Anthony Macri. In keeping with Theresa's specific instructions, her visitation and the Mass of Christian Burial were held privately. Burial took place in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
