Rose M. Foti, beloved mother, loving grandmother and great grandmother, lost her courageous battle with health issues and entered into rest surrounded by her adoring family on January 4th. Rose was an amazing person loved by everyone she met. Rose was born in Newburgh, NY in 1926, to parents Julia (Crudele) Delemmo and Louis Delemmo, and grew up in the city of Newburgh with her sister, Carmella. At 14 years old she began working in Woolworth 5 and 10, in Newburgh making Easter baskets, the first of a long life of work. Rose then went on to work in the local N.Y. Phone Company as a telephone operator. Shortly after graduation from NFA, Rose would meet the love of her life, Charles Foti. They married on July 6th 1947. What a special couple they would become! After welcoming their four children in a five year span, they left jobs behind and opened up the well known "Foti Florist" in 1954. The two of them persevered as their business flourished with their talent, and Rose's friendly personality. Following many successful years in the flower business, they began yet another business venture. Joining cousins of Charles, they opened up the successful restaurant franchise "The Dutch Pantry". Rose enjoyed their new business, and her job as a hostess, especially dancing after work with Charles in the restaurant lounge. After the restaurant business, Rose would find herself back in the flower business when her son opened up Charles Foti Flowers. She truly loved those years working with her son until her retirement in 2004, at the age of 78. Despite humble beginnings, no matter what Rose touched, she and Charles as a team, worked long hours, creating success and fun, always making many friends along the way. Rose loved her family more than anything, and doted on her children, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was "Nana" to their friends as well! The loss is an unbearable void in our family. Rose had a heart bigger than life and she made everyone in the family feel special and loved. She also spread the love to all the animals she had throughout the years, and those left behind. Anyone who met Rose was always touched in some way. She had that special trait, that just made people smile, with kindness and a sense of humor. She was truly the Matriarch of our family, leaving behind a world of memories with stories, advice, recipes and love that we will cherish for all of time. Her bravery throughout everything she endured in the last four weeks of her life, is a true testament of her strength, only to be overshadowed by the huge love for her family. She fought so hard, despite the odds, with a smile that will always be etched in our hearts. She will be forever missed by her growing family left behind in sadness: son, Charles; daughters: Natasha (Kathy) Lea, Treesha White, Rose Daversa and husband, Dennis; grandchildren: Sage Thornton, Damian Ciccarello and wife, Damaris, Erin Richardson and husband, Daryl, Hylah White, Dan Foti, and Devin Daversa; great-grandchildren: Alisha Ciccarello and boyfriend, Tom Beebe, Selena Ciccarello, Jayden Ciccarello, Eloise Foti and Natalie Richardson; nephew, Gary Stanish; and extended family, Faith Giordano, Linda Galano and son, Mathew Galano Kennedy. Rose was predeceased by her parents, Julia and Louis Delemmo; beloved husband of 44 years, Charles Foti; sister, Carmella Stanish and husband, John; nephew, John Stanish; and beloved daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Foti, who was truly her 4th daughter for 42 years until she passed away April 3, 2018. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Rose's memory to a local animal shelter or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Friends and Family are invited for visitation from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 26th at Hudson Valley Funeral Home, 239 Quassaick Ave., New Windsor, NY. There will be a celebration of life from 4:30 to 6 p.m. (camera shy)
