Frank Chrystal - Class of 1948

Chrystal, Frank of Newburgh, a retired manager and 30 year employee of IBM
Poughkeepsie and lifelong resident of the area, died Friday, Nov.21 at Sylcox
Health Care Facility, Newburgh. He was 67. The son of the late Frederick and
Anna Morrison Chrystal, he was born Jan. 4, 1930 in Newburgh. He was a Marine
Corps veteran, having served in the Korean War and was a Chosin Reservoir battle
survivor; a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart; member of the IBM
Poughkeepsie Quarter Century Club; parishoner, usher, commentator and
Eucharistic Minister of the Holy Name Society of St. Francis Church in
Newburgh. Survivors include his wife Jane Roman Chrystal (Class of '48) at
home; two daughters Gale Ann Heminngway of Newburgh and Ellen Allen of the
Bronx; one brother Matthew Chrystal of Maybrook; three sisters Ethel Pastoor of
Tucson, Ariz.; Kay Conroy of Newburgh; and Dawn Taylor of Tucson, Ariz.; three
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
