Richard L. "Dick" Abrams, age 74, of North Royalton, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at his home. Dick will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Pam Abrams (nee Carey), his mother-in-law Shirley Carey, and his sister-in-law Patricia Carey. Dick is also survived by nieces and nephews: Michelle Ragano-Dolanas (Don), Melissa Ragano, Michael Carey (Emily), Colleen Carey, and Dirk Carey (Thao); his great-nieces and nephews: Dillon, Jordan, Chloe, and Lincoln; and his cousin Harold Horning (Jane). Dick was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Gladys (nee Constable) Abrams, his father-in-law Roy Carey, and his brother-in-law Martin Carey (Kathleen, living). Dick was born in Newburgh, New York, and earned his Color Science Ph.D. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. He worked for many years at the Ferro Corp. in Independence, Ohio, until his retirement at age 62. For 29 years, Dick has been an active member and Secretary of the North Royalton Lions Club, and he greatly enjoyed playing Bridge. The family will receive friends at the BABITT-BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 9350 Ridge Road, North Royalton, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Monday, September 23, 2019, where Lions Club services will be held at 7:15 P.M. Funeral service to be celebrated on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at North Royalton Christian Church, 5100 Royalton Road, North Royalton, Ohio 44133 (Please Meet At Church).
