Ruth M. Early Petelinz - Class of 1933

Ruth M. Early Petelinz, a resident of Riviera Beach, FL, and former longtime resident of Newburgh, NY, entered into rest on Friday, November 28, 2008 in Palm Beach, FL. She was 93. The daughter of the late John A. and Edith I. Smith Early, she was born March 19, 1915 in Newburgh, NY. She was married to the late Edmund Petelinz. Ruth attended Newburgh Free Academy and was the secretary and bookkeeper for her husband's business, Petelinz Dairy on South St. in Newburgh for many years. She was an avid golfer and a charter member of the Powelton Club. She also loved bowling. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Cornelia (Neal) Early; nieces: Jean Minuta, Ruth Albertson, Nancy Early Huff, Margo Graves and Joan Sterrett; nephews: John Early Jr., David Petelinz, and Stanley Petelinz; many grand nieces and nephews, and cousins, Denise, Richard and Karen Early. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, John E. Early Sr. and her niece, Patricia Sloan. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., on Tuesday, December 2, at Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m, Wednesday, December 3 in St. Mary's Church, Newburgh, NY. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh, NY.
