Hilda M. Carlstrom Friedle of New Windsor, passed away Wednesday July 6, 2005 at home. She was 86. Daughter of the late Charles and Helen McNulty Carlstrom, she was born July 21, 1918 in Newburgh, N.Y. She was married to George R. Friedle, who predeceased her in 1994. Hilda was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, and was a retired bookkeeper for her family's business, Starr Block Co. of Bloomingburgh, N.Y. She was also a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Newburgh. Survivors include her three sons: George Friedle; Philip Friedle and Judee Coscia; and Richard Friedle and Sharon Greene; her daughter, Regina James and her husband, Joe; her brothers, John J. Carlstrom and William Carlstrom; her sister, Eileen Conover; her grandchildren: Lisa Friedle, George Friedle and his wife, Judy, Scott Friedle, Dawn Brozowski, Michael Friedle and his wife, Teri, Matthew Friedle and his wife, Mia, John Friedle and his wife, Susan, Susan Califano and her husband, Louis, Theresa Tenhagen and her husband, Ray, Philip Friedle Jr. and his wife, Annie, Benjamin Friedle and his wife, Christina, Joe James, Garrett James, and Shannon James; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her husband, Hilda was predeceased by her brothers: Walter, James and Francis Carlstrom; and her sisters: Marion Greco, Eleanor Valenti and Helen Paden. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, July 7 at the Brooks-DiDonato Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 8 at 11:00 AM in St. Patrick's Church, Newburgh. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
