Bella Greenblatt of Newburgh, N.Y. died December 13, 2005 at home. She was 83. The daughter of the late Abraham and Ida Meisner Scholnick, she was born on January 28, 1922 in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was the widow of Seymour Greenblatt. Survivors include daughters: Elaine and son-in-law, James Winslow, Debra and son-in-law, Edward Bolster; sons: Richard and daughter-in-law, Louise Ballinger, Michael and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Beskin; seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Bettie Robins. Bella was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, Vassar College and received her Masters from S.U.N.Y. New Paltz. She was active in many community organizations, a past member of the Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood of the Mid-Hudson Valley, and the Board of Directors of the Newburgh Chamber Music. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 15 at 1:00 p.m. at Congregation Agudas Israel with Cantor Endre Stamler. Please make memorial donations to Planned Parenthood of the Mid-Hudson Valley, 26 West St., Newburgh, NY 12550 or Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh, 26 West St., Newburgh, NY 12550. Burial will be in Congregation Agudas Israel Cemetery. Arrangements under the care of Christian D. Garrison of the Doulin Newburgh Funeral Home, Inc.
