Jimmie Lee Howard, 67, of Mount Vernon, NY, formerly of Newburgh, NY, died Monday, June 22, 2009 at his residence. The son of Clida Butler Howard and the late Carlton Howard, Sr., he was born May 30, 1942 in Newburgh, NY. He was a Laborer for East Side Movers, Inc. of Mount Vernon and was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy. Survivors include two sons, Kevin Howard of Ozone Park, NY and Kenny Buxton of New Britain, CT; two daughters, Darlene Howard of New Haven, CT and Patricia Howard-Jordan of the Bronx, NY; three brothers: Carlton Howard, Jr. of Williamsburg, VA, Charles Howard and common law wife, Vivian McDaniel of Roseboro, NC and Reverend Jesse Howard and wife, Theresa of Newburgh; and sister, Donie Mae Murphy of Beacon, NY; six grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his father, Carlton Howard, Sr.; brother, James Howard; and sister, Tawanda Whitten. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 27, from 9-11 a.m. at House of Joy Church, 109 Liberty St., Newburgh. Services will be held at 11 a.m. at the church with Reverend Jesse Howard officiating.
