Richard John Howlin Jr., 50 of Anderson, SC, formerly of Newburgh, NY, died Sunday, January 9, 2005 at his home. He was born November 6, 1954 in New York, NY. A graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and of Anderson College, he was an adjunct instructor at Tri-County Technical College in Pendleton, SC. He was a member of the Teamsters and retired from Yellow Freight. Richard was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Anderson, SC and a former member of the U.S. Army Reserve, Greenville, SC. He leaves his wife, Rosemary Maniscalco Howlin; son, Michael Howlin and daughter, Megan Howlin. Also surviving, brother-in-law, Jack J. Maniscalco and his wife Beverly, nephew, Jack T. Maniscalco and his wife, Dawn, all of Washingtonville, NY and his father-in-law Jack P. Maniscalco of Anderson, SC. He was predeceased by his father, Richard J. Howlin, mother, Mary Ryan Howlin and mother-in-law, Mary C. Maniscalco. Services were held Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rev. Father James Dubrouillet presiding. Burial was at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Anderson, SC. Memorials may be made to Anderson College in memory of Richard John Howlin Jr., Institutional Advancement Office, 316 Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621.
